How to care for and maintain your Braid

Do you love your style so much you want to keep it for a few days? If you follow these easy instructions, your style can last up to a week!

  1. Use a fine toothed comb to clean up your draws by inserting the comb at the beginning of the part, and combing up to the edge of the braid.
  2. Use wax, pomade, or hairspray to flatten down the wisps of hair that pop up. Best used in combination with the above combing technique!
  3. Remove any flowers BEFORE sleeping! The flowers we use are made of paper and wire, and are very uncomfortable to sleep on. However, they are very easy to put back in!
  4. Sleep with your hair wrapped in a silk or satin scarf, or use a silk or satin pillowcase. This will significantly reduce the amount of wisps you develop as you sleep, as cotton tends to pull more on your hair.
  5. Wash your hair! All of our ribbons are colorfast, and will not bleed when wet. To wash your hair, simply lather up the shampoo in your hands, pat gently into your braid, and rinse throughly.
